Jordan: Conflict Resolution
Project Challenge: To collaborate with the Performing Arts Center of the Noor Al Hussein Foundation and the Jordanian Ministry of Education on an educational program designed to teach non-violent conflict resolution techniques to middle school children.
"The Culture of Peace" program in Jordan made creative use of skits to teach conflict resolution concepts to children
Strategy: We worked with a team of Jordanian actors, educators, writers and musicians to incorporate creative, low-tech educational approaches into the program, including live theater, puppets, music, dance, and small group activities. Using these techniques, our team developed a traveling show that performed in middle schools throughout the country, and created "Journey to Kanafeesh," a nationally broadcast TV program, and several radio programs to promote new ideas about conflict resolution.
